Teeth Cleaning We use ultrasonic technology and warm water to gently
but thoroughly clean tarter, plaque and stains from the teeth. It's not the old
"dig and scrape method" anymore. This technique not only cleans the teeth but
kills many of the bad bacteria found around the teeth and under the gum line.
Teeth Whitening We use the at-home technique with trays that our patients
wear in the evening or at night. This method is much better in terms of sensitivity
and control of the whitening process.
Tooth Colored Fillings Tooth colored fillings are used for small and medium
sized restorations in front and back teeth. They can be used to repair cavities or
restore defects or chipped teeth. They are so life-like that it is difficult to distinguish
them from the natural teeth.
Porcelain Veneers Porcelain (ceramic) veneers are thin, natural-looking coverings
for changing the appearance of front and side teeth. These can be made to make the teeth
appear whiter, brighter, more youthful, longer and even straighter.
Crowns A crown is a complete covering for a tooth that extends down to or near
the gum line. This restoration is used when a tooth is cracked or fractured to a point where
it cannot be restored using other more conservative materials. It can also be used to enhance
the aesthetics and function of teeth that have worn down or are discolored.
Dental Implants - Dental implants are simply a titanium "root" that can be used alone to support a single replacement tooth (crown) or with several implants to give support to several teeth (bridge) or even all the teeth (overdenture). We surgically place dental implants and restore them with state-of-the-art materials so you can smile and chew as if you had your own natural teeth.
Dental Implants
Esthetic Tooth Exposure (Gum Lift, Crown Lengthening) – Some people have teeth that look too short or square because the gum tissues cover up the enamel that is suppose to show in your smile. This happens naturally due to problems in the relationship between the teeth, gums, and jaw bone. Orthodontic treatments such as braces might leave the gum tissue looking "over-grown." Esthetic Tool Exposure recontours and repositions the gum line allowing the natural length and size of your teeth giving you a much more attractive smile.
Gum Tissue Grafting for Recession – This procedure replaces gum tissue that has receded exposing the roots of your teeth. Recession causes the firm tissue that is tight up against the tooth be destroyed and exposes soft “flabby” tissue that is easily damaged. Tooth sensitivity to sweets and temperature changes can also result from this. We use an allograft material (completely natural and safe tissue) instead taking it from the roof of your mouth, eliminating a second surgical site and a more unpleasant recovery time. Grafting can improve the function and longevity of your teeth while also giving you a more attractive smile and improved periodontal health.
Aesthetic Dentures Modern materials and techniques can restore better function,
appearance, health, and comfort. We can create a denture that looks natural for your face,
skin tone, hair color, and personality.
Fixed Bridgework A fixed bridge can be one solution to restoring proper function and
aesthetics if a tooth is missing. Usually, the teeth on either side of the space are prepared
as if each was receiving a crown. Then a replacement tooth is attached between the two ends.
All this is one piece that is cemented or bonded into place for a very strong, durable, and
beautiful way to take care of an unsightly space.
Removable Bridgework Removable bridgework, also known as a partial denture, might be
recommended. There are various designs depending on the number of teeth missing and the strength
of the remaining teeth and bone. Sometimes a partial denture is used with specialized crowns for
a more solid fit. Removable bridgework can also be used with dental implants to replace some or
all the teeth.
Inlays and Onlays When a filling in the back teeth gets too large or part of a back tooth
breaks off, an inlay or onlay can be used to restore the esthetics and function of the tooth while
keeping as much natural tooth structure intact.
Periodontal Disease Treatment Periodontal (gum) disease creates deep pockets of infection
around the teeth that can also damage the bone, causing teeth to loosen and infection to travel to
other parts of the body. Thoroughly deep cleaning the roots of the teeth and excellent home care can
eliminate most of the disease and infection and keep it under control.
Root Canals The mere mention of this procedure can make a 300 pound lineman shake in fear.
State of the art techniques and materials make root canals much more comfortable, not any worse than
a big filling. The infected tissue is cleaned out of the tooth without damaging the root. Medicines
are used to disinfect the canal and then a special material is placed into the canal to fill it and
keep bacteria out.
TMJ Therapy Popping, clicking, and/or painful jaw joints and muscles are the symptoms most
apparent to people suffering with this syndrome. Using a specialized, hard acrylic appliance and a
lot of care and skill, we can help diminish the pain stabilize the joints to keep them as healthy as
possible over time. Clenching and grinding during the day or while sleeping adds not only pain, but
can wear down or break teeth in the process.
Specialty Services Occasionally there is a need for specialized dental care from a Board
Certified specialist including orthodontics (braces), gum surgery, or wisdom teeth removal. Dr. Wegner works closely with various specialists and will communicate forward
the necessary information, and discuss the overall plan. Dr. Wegner will also communicate this information
to you so there is no confusion, duplication of effort, or wasted time getting the expected results.
